Association of Chinese Political Studies
(ACPS), formerly
Chinese Scholars of
Political Science and International Studies,
is a non-profit, non-political organization for scholarly and
professional activities. ACPS was founded in 1986 in the United States to promote academic exchange
among Chinese scholars and American scholars of China studies. In
1995, the organization changed its name to Association of Chinese
Political Studies, and since then the organization is for all who study Chinese politics.
Currently the organization has over 800 members from various parts
of the world. Eighty percent of them are male and 20% of them are
female.
ACPS is a related organization of American
Political Science Association and International
Studies Association. It sponsors panels in APSA's annual
meetings. ACPS holds an annual conference on China each year. The most
recent
annual meeting, "China
After the 17th Party Congress," was
hosted and sponsored by Missouri State University between Oct. 11-12, 2008. ACPS also organizes or co-organizes international
conferences and research trips. The most recent international conference,
"Greater China in an Era of
Globalization," was jointly organized with HK Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies at Chinese University of Hong Kong
between July 13-15, 2008 Hong
Kong, China.
ACPS publishes scholarly
books, newsletters, and a refereed academic journal

of Chinese Political Science.
