The Association of Chinese Political Studies will hold an international symposium in conjunction with its 20th annual meeting at San Francisco State University from July 14-15, 2007. The conference will be hosted and co-sponsored by the Center for US-China Policy Studies (CUSCPS) at San Francisco State University and the Mr. & Mrs. S.H. Wong Foundation, Ltd. Hong Kong

We welcome all papers that address any aspect of the central theme and the main questions related to the broad theme, which could include domestic politics, economics, culture, society, military, foreign policy, foreign relations, Taiwan Strait relations, Hong Kong and Macau , problems and challenges, domestic and global implications, continuity and change, and retrospective and prospects. Well researched conference papers will have the following opportunities: (1) to be selected as “The Best Paper;” (2) and/or to be published in Journal of Chinese Political Science (JCPS); (3) and/or to be published in edited books.

Paper proposals should include paper title, names of authors, institutional affiliation, address, phone number, fax number, e-mail address, and an abstract – everything in one page. The deadline for submission of paper proposals is January 30, 2007. Paper proposals should be emailed to Dr. Jean-Marc F. Blanchard, Co-Program Chair, at events@sfsu.edu   Due to the influx of a large amount of emails regarding different events, we hope you could kindly put “2007 ACPS annual meeting paper proposal” in the subject line of your emails.

Volunteers interested in serving as panel chairs and discussants and international travelers who need letter of invitation for visa application purpose should contact Dr. Sujian Guo, Program Chair, at events@sfsu.edu

Notes: The association will provide free room and meal accommodations (three nights and two days) for those who present a paper at the conference panel sessions and who serve as chairs and discussants. The association will issue notification of acceptance of the paper proposals no later than January 30, 2007. All attendees will have to register and pay the registration fees for attending the conference. More information on registration will be provided soon.
